A man is said to be fighting for his life after being shot in the head right outside his home in Bradford late last night.

It is believed that the man was being chased just before being shot in the head with a shotgun.


Roads around Gaythorne Road in West Bowling, have been blocked off while police stand guard in case further violence breaks out.

It is believed the man was shot right outside his house in Round Street.

crime scene investigation and scientific support vehicles are also present at the scene.

Local residents have named the victims of the shooting as 30 year old Imran, known locally as ‘kalay’.

Witnesses also said they had seen Imran walking down the road just before shots were fired from a car.

Air ambulance was called in to take the victim to hospital but police have not yet released any more details of his condition.

The family of the victim were at the scene and stood over him to protect him in case the shooters came back.

West Yorkshire Police issued an appeal for witnesses who may have seen the incident to come forward.

A spokesman said: “Officers were called to Round Street, Bradford, at about 8pm to a report a man had been seriously injured in a disturbance outside a property.

“Emergency services attended and located a 30-year-old man who had suffered a serious head injury.

“The man was taken to hospital where he is being treated for injuries which are life-threatening.”
