A man who was killed in a targeted shooting on Monday was expecting his first child to arrive next month it has emerged.
Imran Khan, whose wife is due to give birth next month, had been out shopping for baby items hours before he was shot and killed.
Friends have quoted him as saying he ‘could not wait’ and was ‘over the moon’ and about having his first child.
Detectives have confirmed a third arrest has been made following the shooting of Mr Khan, 30, who has been described by family members as a ‘kind’ man.
He was taken to hospital after the shooting via air ambulance but died a short time later. Post mortem examinations have confirmed that he died of a single gun shot wound to the head.
The sister of the victim has paid tribute to her brother, describing him as the “greatest brother”.
Imran Khan’s sister Jawaria broke down in tears as she spoke about her 30-year-old sibling.
She said: “He was the greatest brother you could ever have.
“He was always there for his family and people used to look up to him.”
A friend of Mr Khan, who did not want to be named, said: “He was a brilliant lad, a good lad, and humble with the kids. He played football with the local kids.
“He had a heart. He would always do something for the community.
“We have lost a really good person in the community. He was always humble and polite and happy and playful.”
