An ex-wife tried to kill her former husband by stabbing him and trying to pull his intestines out after luring him to her flat, Birmingham Crown Court has heard.
Dalya Saeed, 35, used multiple weapons including a meat cleaver, a wooden bat and a kitchen knife during the attack on her former husband, Mohammed Bilal Miah, who had to ‘push his intestines back in’ after ‘she pulled them out’, Birmingham Crown Court was told.
When police arrived at the scene after the attack around 3am on October 20 in 2015 outside Saeed’s flat in Forest Road, Moseley. they found Mr Miah cowering in the porch of a neighbouring flat with parts of his intestines hanging out and 30 different wounds to his head and body.
Police also found part of his small bowel lying on her bedroom floor.
When Saeed was arrested she claimed her former husband raped her and she attacked him in self-defence.
Adam Western, prosecuting, told the court the couple had divorced in 2013 after only two years of marriage and had a daughter together who was taken into care.
Saeed rang Mr Miah and invited him over to her flat to discuss the adoption of their daughter who was due to be adopted the following month.
The prosecutor said when Mr Miah arrived the pair had sex for four hours at Saeed’s request before talking about the adoption of their daughter.
After discussing the adoption Saeed tried to initiate sex with Mr Miah again but was rejected.
It was at this point she attacked him with a knife.
Mr Miah told the court: “Suddenly, in the blink of an eye and I didn’t see the knife, she stabbed me twice in the belly.
“I can only assume the knife came from either under the bed or the pocket of her dressing gown.”
“My intestines were out, everything was out and she was grabbing hold of them, trying to pull them,”
“She broke one of them and threw it onto the floor, but I managed to put the rest of them back in my belly.”
Mr Miah fled from Saeed’s flat only to be chased down and attacked on the street by Saeed, who at this point was equipped with a baseball bat and a meat cleaver.
Mr Miah was discovered at 3am after several neighbours heard his screams and called police.
Police arrived to find Mr Miah cowering in the porch of a neighbouring flat with parts of his intestines hanging out and 30 different wounds to his head and body.
Saeed denies attempting to murder Mr Miah and also a second charge of wounding with intent and claimed she accidentally grabbed hold of his intestines as she tried to defend herself.
Mr Western said: “She caused his injuries. Her intention was nothing less than to kill him.”
