Reports are coming in that one man has been shot with what has been described as a pellet gun and another man injured with a machete after a gunman ran into a mosque in Birmingham.

Witnesses have said that the man tried to attack someone inside the Mosque but was chased out.

Armed police arrived on the scene and cordoned the area off, one male has been arrested carrying a machete and another male is being searched for.

Last night three girls were arrested after a hit and run incident which left 2 men seriously injured right outside the mosque.

It is not believed that the shooting today is linked to the hit and run incident last night.

West Midlands Police has released the following statement: “Our officers have closed off an area of Sparkbrook this evening (Tuesday) following some disorder in Henley Street earlier.

Officers were called to the area around 6.45pm following reports of a man being chased by a group of other men, some reportedly carrying weapons.
