CCTV footage released (below) of the moment a 33-year-old was killed by an armed gang with knives and baseball bats as he sat in his car earlier this week in the hopes of more people coming forward with information.
Officers were called to Braintree Road at about 7.30pm on Sunday and found Raja Rashid Ali had been stabbed.
Raja was killed while sitting in his car in Dagenham, east London, after a group of up to twelve men attacked him and his passengers on Sunday night.
The shocking video shows a 4×4 ramming into the back of the Renault Megane that Mr Ali and his friends were sitting in.
A couple of seconds later another vehicle pulls up on the side of the Megane and men can be seen jumping out of the car with baseball bats and knives.
One of the victims who was trapped in the back of the 2 door Megane managed to escape through the roof while a second man can be seen escaping from the window.
Paramedics treated Raja at the scene but he sadly couldn’t be saved.
Four men in their early twenties were arrested on suspicion of murder and remain in custody while police gather more evidence.
Detective Chief Inspector David Whellams said: “At this very early stage we are working to establish the motive, but we know that Raja was in a vehicle with two other men which stopped in Stansgate Road outside Costcutter, when they were involved in an altercation with a number of others who were travelling in two other vehicles.
“The suspects left the scene in these two vehicles. The incident took place outside a busy supermarket and I am confident there are more witnesses who have information. I urge them to come forward.”
DCI Whellams continued: “The incident took place outside a busy supermarket and I am confident there are more witnesses who have information. I urge them to come forward.”
