A nine-year-old boy named Adam limbada has sadly lost his life after being hit by a speeding vehicle last night in Bastwell, Blackburn.

It is believed that the young boy was crossing Whalley New Road, close to the junction with Plane Street, at around 10.55pm last night when he was hit by a BMW.
The young boy was taken to hospital with serious injuries but passed away a few hours later.
The 25-year-old driver of the BMW vehicle, which is thought to be hired, was arrested on the scene.
Witnesses have described the white BMW as ‘racing’ just before the collision.
A police spokesman said: “A nine-year-old boy was crossing Whalley New Road in Blackburn at around 10.55pm last night when he was in collision with a BMW 4 Series.
“The boy suffered multiple injuries and was taken to hospital but sadly died.
“The driver of the BMW, who is a 25-year-old man from Blackburn has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and is in custody.”
Any witnesses are asked to call police on 101, quoting log number 1712 of August 4.
