Shooting in Alum rock leaves man injured but in stable condition

A man has been wounded after being shot last night in the Alum Rock area of Birmingham.

Police believe that the shooting was a targeted attack on the man who is said to be 28 years old.

He was taken to hospital but is said to be in a stable condition.

The gunman struck on George Arthur road near the junction of the busy Alum Rock Road.

The area around the shooting is currently sealed off by police as part of the investigation.

Insp David Hollies, from West Midlands Police, said: “We believe this was a targeted attack and we are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.

“Part of George Arthur Road and Alum Rock Road will remain closed this morning as part of the investigation.”
