Sabah Khan appeared in court for the first time and showed no emotion during the hearing only speaking to confirm her name. She has been charged with killing her older sister, Saima Khan, who was found dead at her home in Luton on 23 May.
The 26 year sister of Saima Khan was arrested for the murder of her sister on 31 May and was later charged.
She appeared at Luton magistrates court on June 6, she was not required to enter a plea and only spoke to confirm her name.
She will be required to enter a guilty of not guilty plea in August at the plea and case management hearing.
Judge Richard Foster fixed a trial date for November 21.
She was remanded back into custody as she awaits trial.
Saima Khan was murdered trying to protect her children and house from what she believed was a burglar.
Her throat was slit and she was left for dead while her family were out attending a late night funeral.
They arrived back to find Saima Khan lying in a pool of blood “unconscious and not breathing”
Saima Khan’s Husband, Hafeez Rehman, paid tribute to his wife saying, ‘She was a loving mother to four beautiful children, a devoted wife, a beloved daughter and the most caring of sisters.’
‘She has been taken from us at the age of 34 and my children have been deprived of their mother. This was a junction in our lives where we intended to watch our children grow, to love them and spend quality time as a family and make memories.’
‘We have been left with a gap in our lives and we can only pray that she is resting in peace. As everyone can appreciate and understand, the circumstances have torn our hearts apart. My family and I would like to thank you all for the condolence messages and support that we have received from family, friends and the local community.’
Saima Khan leaves behind four children aged between one and seven.
